B: いや、もう難しくてお手上げだよ!

Romaji:
A: Kono mae kara itte ita mondai wa toketa?
B: Iya, moo muzukashikute oteage dayo!

Translation:
A: Have you solved the problem that you talked about the other day?
B: No, it's too difficult and I have given up on it!

お手上げ / Oteage:
Literally means "to raise one's hands". As you can imagine from that gesture, it expresses "surrender" and means "there's nothing more that can be done."


Another example
A: 彼女を説得するのはやめたんですか。
B: 何を言っても聞いてくれないから、もうお手上げだ。

Romaji:
A: Kanojo o settoku suru no wa yametan desuka.
B: Nani o ittemo kiite kurenai kara, moo oteage da.

Translation:
A: Have you stopped trying to persuade her?
B: Yes, she doesn't listen to what I say. I have given up.
